BUCKET & SAND TOWNS
The Yorkshire seaside is one of the most special places in the world to me. Mainly because I'm not sure there’s anywhere else that conjures up such memories from my childhood. Its a place where ageing grandeur meets rain fall & Ice Cream. A place of wind struck waves against multi coloured breakers. Bucket & sand towns of greasy spoon cafes, Broken arcade machines & cuddly toys.
No matter how much they rust the memories do not...
What seems like an absolute age ago I got t to spend an afternoon with the amazing Katie & Daniel in Scarborough. After meeting this awesome couple we explored the dilapidated arches behind the train station car park. Haha you wanted Scarborough? Well lets start off with the fancy bits ;-) I remember taking some photos here years ago of my wife Hannah when I had first started using a camera & was over the moon to be back there with these two.
Right after that we headed over to Scarborough Spa & Pavilion. Yeah of course I got those seaside shots but what really dragged me in was the combination of this ageing seaside spectacle against the brutalist architecture they were surrounded by.
Reflections of waves in concrete & glass showed this amazing two where they belong. In an embrace amidst the elements.
Heres to these two. I can’t wait for their wedding this year!
