DO NOT LOOK AT THESE PICTURES IF YOU HAVE AN AFFINITY WITH PIGS
I spent a couple of years living just up the road from the awesome Kirkgate market. I only really went a couple of times after a Market stall dude overcharged me for some dodgy fruit in a brown paper bag. I guess that's a solid life lesson. Never buy fruit from a man in a shell suit shouting in your face about his award winning concealed bananas.
For Karen & Romain, who only moved to Leeds a couple of years ago after living all over the world. Kirkgate market was one of the first experiences they had of the city, & it's a place that made them feel one with their new home.
A SENSE OF HOME
This awesome shoot has made me realise it's not just about what I feel about a place. But more about what gives these love struck strangers a sense of place. A sense of home.
Here's to two of the kindest & warmest people I have ever had the good fortune of photographing. A special mention must also go to the butcher in a couple of photos. He really knows how to photobomb ;-)
