A couple of weeks ago I was back in the heart of the city with Tory & Nick to photograph their most spectacular of days. The day began in one of the incredible room overlooking the Leeds Liverpool canal at 42 The Calls while Tory & her bridesmaids got ready before saying their I do's. Water shimmered in the sunlight sending reflections of colour across white walls. Rippling in anticipation of the day to come.
It was in that same hotel that Nick waited amidst those that matter most for Tory to take her last few steps into his waiting arms. Flowers & candles set the scene along with a beautiful arbor all put together by Tory's Grandma. The hazy sun cast a warm spot light onto the couple as they took centre stage & said their vows.
Right after that it was time to chase that urban awesomeness with this magnificent two in & around Leeds City Centre. A huge thankyou to these guys for being so up for anything & braving the cold. A short walk then took us over to Shears Yard where the rest of the days events would take place.
I have to say the guys at Shears Yard were absolutely frickin awesome & not only was it beautiful looking venue but the staff were all kinds of attentive. Speeches were made & laughter filled the room as the light dwindled outside but for the candles that burnt on within.
Music struck & the dance floor filled for a party that would last long into the night.
Here's to the incredible Tory & Nick. Xx
LOST & FOUND
There’s never a frown with Lost & Found, it's Wednesday & Wednesday is always the bestest day when it comes with photographs that might not have otherwise seen the light of day. Yes! put on your pants of perpetual celebration. Adorn your hats of hysteria. It’s that time once again for Lost & Found.
This week we are in Leeds for the wedding of the incredible Tory & Nick who's most incredible of days began over at 42 the Calls before partying on at Shaears Yard. Urban awesomeness to the maximum of magnitudes. So without further ado lets get straight to the first photo.
Image one is no doubt one of my favourites from the set. I mean just frickin look at the beautiful Tory & that crazy light coming in from the skylight just behind her. After getting ready there was just a short moment of peace to grab a couple of portraits before heading off to say her I do's & this was one of them. I metered for the window light throwing her into shadow but the very top parts of her face & threw everything else into black. Tory owned that spotlight like a frickin rockstar.
In number two I adored the large mirror in the bridal suite of 42 the Calls & after setting up the Brides flowers & shoes etc saw a beautiful composition from a higher angle. By getting the reflection it was like looking through a kaleidoscope. It kind of reminds me of the beginning of the titles for the Queens Nose. Who remembers that kids TV show? Good times!
The final photograph for this week was of the groomsmen outside of 42 the Calls just before heading off to the ceremony. I absolutely love using these cars in the streets of Leeds for shots. They never fail to make me smile. But this one juxtaposed against the red brick made my day with its vibrancy. This was the shot before the posed one & as is usually the case I actually prefer it. Boom!
