Lets travel back in time to a few weeks back where I was over at the Crab & Lobster with Kimberley & Sean for their most incredible of days. First of all let me talk about the flowers from Flower Design who actually created some of the most beautiful bouquets & button holes I have ever seen at a wedding. JUST LOOK AT THE COLOURS!
After an emotional ceremony in the quirky glass conservatory of Crab Manor we headed off to get some portraits amidst the grounds of this beautiful Thirsk wedding venue. Easily my favourite part of getting Sean & Kim involved with my usual posing antics of "Get in this bush" or "Look at yourself in the mirror like you wish you were marrying yourself" was Sean's consistent laughter at my general eccentricity in taking said pictures. A personal highlight of mine was booting the grounds keeper out of his shed while he was having his sardines to grab some quick pics in his hut. Sorry pal, your BLT can wait.
After portraits aplenty including exploring all of those awesome hidden corners of the Crab & Lobster itself. It was speeches time followed by everyones chance to bust there favourite moves on the dance floor. At one point during the first dance all of the Bride & Grooms family &friends created a circle around the couple with them in the centre. Of course I weaselled my way in & apologised to whoever was blessed with my sweaty pits in their face for the duration. My Nivea for men had long since worn off by that point.
But there in the circle where the music played the warmth of the venue lights cast a magical glow upon the whole room. A warmth only matched by the people to share in this moment together.
Here's to Kim & Sean.
SHUTTER GO... LOST & FOUND ~ KIM & SEAN
Ey up you lovely lot! Things are finally starting to wind down a little shooting wise & it's getting closer to wrapping up the 2017 wedding season. Of course September & October are arguably more busy than the Summer months for wedding photographers as we become monitor worshipping hermits & catch up on editing all that Summer wedding awesomeness. With only a few more weddings left this year to shoot it's getting closer to wrapping up the 2017 wedding season & what a year it has been.
The latest peeps to take delivery of every last moment is the amazing Kimberley & Sean with their colourful beaut of a wedding at the Crab &Lobster in Thirsk. So let's take a step back in time to explore those unseen moments in this weeks lost & found.
The first two photographs are linked in their exploration of a single scene& allowing an edit to portray the feeling of a moment in different ways. The very first image was shot spot metered off the mirror. With the reflected light from the outdoor sun this allowed me to put the walls in shadow. Of course I had to bring out that awesome moon & the colourful pictures for that contrast. I adore the way the vibrant colours & bright white of the mirror interplay & contrast with the shadows in the scene.
The second image is of the exact same mirror but this time with normal metering. I placed Sean in the foreground to provide framing for the beautiful Kim. I love this image for the simplicity in its storytelling. The way it creates intimacy without having them close. Two very different images with a tiny section of wall, a mirror & of course a fabulous couple.
The final photograph I actually thought I had previewed initially because it was easily my favourite of the Bridesmaids on this wedding. After positioning the bridesmaids by a funky door, the lack of symmetry in the busy outdoor seating area of the Crab & Lobster made my brain yearn to put Kim in the centre. Kim's beautiful dress had some incredible back detailing that I wanted to show off so I turned her around & Click... Definitely one of my personal favourite photographs from the wedding &seriously... JUST LOOK AT THAT DRESS!!!
Thank you to Kim & Sean for the memories. Until next time guys.
