SATELLITE OF LOVE
Waaaay back before Christmas I was in Manchester City Centre with the incredibly awesome Ciaran & Steph for their beautiful urban wedding amidst those that matter most.
Kicking off the day I was with the Bride & Groom over at Velvet Hotel, Bar & Restaurant where panda heads were inflated, rings were placed in precarious positions & magic was made. From their we utilised the magnificent graffiti laden streets of the Northern Quarter for Steph & Ciaran's first look. They turned around to see each other for the first time to fits of laughter amidst the rainy streets.
After an intimate ceremony over at Manchester Town Hall it was time for drinks over at The Oast House where celebrations took place in their own private teepee right there surrounded by the Manchester Skyline. Fairy lit portraits & Christmas trees then lit the way to Artisan restaurant which was home to not only badass neon lights to capture my final moments with this amazing couple. But also the warmth of their family & friends as they celebrated amidst the comfort of their private dining room.
LOST & FOUND
After a little break from Lost & Found while I was planning my talk for the Looks Like Film UK Meet-up. This week we are coming back full speed like Superman in a spin class. Join me on a trip back in time for the incredible Steph & Ciaran's wedding just before Christmas in the heart of Manchester City Centre.
It's a reasonably regular occurrence for me to find myself in a spectacular teepee wedding but I think its a first for that teepee to be smack bang in the middle of the city. Fairy lights of the Oast House contrasting with the surrounding office blocks of the Manchester streets. When the sun had gone down on Steph & Ciaran's most awesome of days we headed out into the night for some magical evening portraits. I adored how this tree fell exactly in the centre of the tent along with two spotlights to the left & right. Of course these were just begging for an up-lit portrait of the Bride & Groom. I positioned them either side & click.
Photograph two was one of those lucky images in between the posed shots. I adore Steph's facial expression & how it almost mirrors the graffiti Geisha. I had a great time with the Bride & Groom exploring these back alleys of Manchesters Northern Quarter before they said their I do's. Everybody knows I love me a good wall & the Northern Quarter is loaded with em.
The final image for this weeks Lost & Found is another from our pre ceremony portrait session. We had dodged the rain but its Manchester so of course it was still wet haha. This street corner was just begging for a portrait after spotting the funky puddle reflections, yellow parking lines & occasional passer by in shot. I adore the way the yellow lines lead the eye to the couple. The clean reflections that allowed me to flip the scene upside down & for me the pedestrian mid stride just completes it.
That's this weeks Lost & Found. Until next time guys
SHUTTER GO... REVIEWS ~ STEPH & CIARAN
Where to begin with Ryan? As soon as I saw his images online I knew instantly that this was the guy I wanted to photograph our wedding but what you actually get when you book Ryan isn’t just EPIC photographs but the pleasure of such a warm, funny, (very talented) & all round lovely guy on your wedding day. We only had a small wedding so it would have been so easy for a photographer to feel intrusive or awkward trying to blend in for shots.
Ryan slipped seamlessly into our guests like one of the family – who were all very taken with him & I’m sure would have had him round for Christmas dinner if they could! The photographs went beyond what we could ever have hoped for when capturing the day. I love the uniqueness & creativity of Ryan’s work, which speaks for itself & I'd advise a cup of tea handy for looking through all his amazing work because you won't regret it (actually, I'm judging you if you haven't already done this).
On the day we couldn’t have felt more at ease. So, if your Uber driver doesn’t realise the urgency of getting you both to your wedding on time, or if your shoes literally feel like walking on the pits of hell fire, don’t fear! Ryan will be there snapping away like a pro making magic & having a right good giggle with you too! Thanks for everything Ryan X
