FINDING A VOICE
Yesterday was all about the amazing Joe & Anna who on a day like no other told their story amidst the beautiful Summer gardens of The Craigmar followed by the bordering on fantasy setting of The Craven Arms Cruck Barn, Appletreewick. As Joe is known for his story telling prowess it was a day filed with incredible speeches, poetry & a cracking song filled best mans speech. So to add my own words I thought there was no better way than with a few verses of my own.
It was but another morning in a sleepy Dales town,
Where not a creature was stirring but for my beard laden frown,
For it was early you see I hadn't had my morning brew,
I lit a cigarette to make a call let the picture taking ensue.
Around the corner came a man not just any man you know,
For this man was not a man but a mountain called Joe,
& with a smile we did descend to his good old B & B,
Where I took out my camera from said manbag & drank a cup of tea.
But there two halves to this tale & Joe's other half was Anna,
& across the track was this unseen beauty fit for panorama,
When both were ready we set sale across not seas but dusty road,
To the Craigmar was Adventures goal in an outdoor ceremony love was sewed.
& in the mid day sun they stood amidst flower in a song with no sound,
For the trees were the verse & the sun was the beat that echoed over ground,
To the Cruck Barn next where two rings did hang from a wooden door,
For the guests to place in the palm of their hands to wish for a love that lasts for evermore.
& in this candle lit grandeur loved ones stood amidst a relighted room,
Rekindled by old memories of words & love of Bride & Groom,
In front of the fire it was but her & him that flickered in the flame,
As the best man spoke the words that rolled upon the plain.
Only the Dales God's could be heard as held is hand aloft to the sound of thunder,
It seems they approve as laughter filled the room let no one put asunder.
& while the violin played & the rain cascades & the candles flicker in laughter,
It was a meeting of elements that proclaimed this love as one for ever after.
& they danced a slow dance until the music transformed,
& to the beat a family danced for romance the heart warmed,
For when the fire goes out & the rain subsides there will still be life,
A light that burns bright in the dark for this new husband & wife.
Here's to Joe & Anna & a story that will never end.
