LAMALAMA DING DONG
On Saturday I got to spend an entire day with the incredible Callon &Lauren over at the beautiful venue of Skipbridge Country Weddings. Yes that's right! I was up to my usual farm based antics of attempting to befriend every single animal including carrying out mental measurements to decipher if a fully grown Lama would fit in my VW Polo.
Words can't even describe how bloody lovely Lauren & Callon are & even in the best mans speeches they failed to deliver any embarrassing stories or personality flaws to publicly assassinate. In fact while we are on the subject of speeches. I sure as Hell hear a lot of them in my job. But the sure fire clue of when there's an mazing one is when I just listen & pause taking photos for a couple of minutes. From hearing tales of how the happy couple first met. To an awesome poem from the father of the bride & right up to the best mens childhood tales of wilderness exploring. Every last word spoke out to the crowds that filled this magnificent paper lantern adorned PapaKåta! teepee was epic.
Now let me talk to you guys about the venue for a moment. Just on the outskirts of York & ran by the most bloody lovely family you're ever likely to meet is this wild flower infused, animal adorned, hobbit hole hidden spectacle that is Skipbridge Country Weddings. It's pretty rare as a photographer I'm as welcomed by staff as one of the guests. But these guys & their beautiful little pocket of Yorkshire countryside have it all.
Now Lauren & Callon had their fair share of ups & downs getting to their most spectacular of days. After having to change no only the entire venue, caterers & even the wedding date. It was apparent above all that no matter what wedding woes were thrown their way that in the arms of each other was where the memories truly mattered.
For under the canopy of fairy lights as the crowds gathered to watch a first dance. It was in those first steps that their adventure truly began.
Here's to these two.
SHUTTER GO... LOST & FOUND ~ LAUREN & CALLON
Every single wedding I post a selection of my favourite moments from a couples most awesome of days. Then once I have finished, delivered & created those funky slideshows & Dark Slide of the Moon blog posts. I always come across a couple of photographs that might not have made the cut for those initial previews but sure as Hell should have done.
So starting with the amazing Lauren & Callon who just took delivery of every last moment. I thought I'd make a little addition to my weekly blog posts about those pictures that wouldn't have otherwise been seen by your squinty eyes of photographic love.
The first image was in a tiny room behind the church with not enough room to swing a cat in. My cat Gatsby would also have been seriously pissed if I'd have brought him with me solely to swing him around in a church. I mean he told me he doesn't even like God. When asked why he explained "It's dog spelt backwards."
In that fleeting moment I saw Lauren the beautiful Brides back to the mirror, the vicars shoulder, the mother of the Brides emotion as she looked at her daughter, I stepped out, Click. Layers, reflections & emotion. All the ingredients of a good story.
The 2nd was one of those "IT HAS TO BE SYMMETRICAL OR EVERYONE DIES" images. Foreground of Callon the Groom adjusting his tie. & his life long best pals in the background. It's rare I prefer a black & white process to colour on an image but this one just worked.
The 3rd image was a better version of the incredible Hobbit hole at Skipbridge Country Weddings that I shared in the original previews. Leading lines, red brick, symmetry & loveliness. Yeah I just used the word loveliness. I also like fluffy kittens & flowers.
So there we have it. This weeks Lost & found from the incredible wedding of Lauren & Callon.
SHUTTER GO... REVIEWS ~ LAUREN & CALLON
Don't really know where to start with explaining how bloody awesome Ryan is, but I'll give it a good go. Ryan literally finds the best in anything he points his camera at. & you can guarantee everything will be natural smiles because he'll have you laughing your heads off pretty much the entire time he's around. We've had none stop compliments about our pictures since the wedding, everyone loved his style and approach to what he does. Currently, we're having to pick 100 photos, which is super difficult because every single shot is amazing. Thank you for everything Ryan, you were truly awesome!!!! X
